I was discovered as a voiceover in 1989 when a talent scout walked into 99.5RT and recorded voice samples of the on-air staff. Soon after, I was recording my first TV commercial for Energizer Batteries. I went on to establish myself as highly-sought voiceover for products represented by major Philippine advertising agencies, McCann Worldwide, Ogilvy and Mather, BBDO Guerrero, Ace Saatchi and Saatchi, and Lowe, among others. My biggest claim to fame as a VO was debuting the signature tag line for Axe—”Axe, because first impressions last”—when the men’s deo cologne hit Philippine shores.
My eighteen year career spanned an eclectic mix of radio imaging, character voices, straight announcing, live events, and audiobooks.
At three different times in my career, I was the signature marketing voice for major Philippine TV networks, GMA, Studio 23, and QTV.
Since returning to the U.S. in 2007, my VO career has taken a much more low-key presence. Competition is tough so I’m very thankful that a former client reconnected with me on LinkedIn and gave me work doing audiobook summaries.
